QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of High School Diploma but a bachelor’s degree is preferred
  • Requires 2 years experience.  Retail management experience preferred.  Knowledge of Circle K store operations and a history of successful Circle K store management beneficial.
  • Must have strong presentation skills, good written and verbal skills, be detail oriented with good organizational skills
  • Strong team orientation required.  Able to multi-task and adapt to busy working environment with changing responsibilities, priorities and deadlines.
  • Computer literate in MS Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
  • Requires 75% travel and overnight stays. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Facilitates and administers in-store and classroom training for Managers in Training candidates and new acquisition  employees on all phases of Circle K Management
  • Ensures integrity of the MIT program by providing Mentors with guidelines and expectations; evaluates mentors’ performance; reports Mentors progress and makes recommendations to ROD/MM about Mentor’s performance.  Update Mentors with training materials, new procedures, system changes etc.  Evaluates and certifies management trainees at the completion of the various training modules.  Keeps operations management apprised of trainee’s progress, problems, etc., and makes recommendations accordingly.
  • Assist with administration of NETP training and work with NETP trainers as needed.
  • Maintain a training database and query data as needed.  Maintain files for each trainee containing progress reports, technical skill assessments, correspondence and other required documentation where appropriate.
  • Conducts classroom training, using appropriate presentation tools and equipment when necessary.
  • Evaluates the proficiency levels of existing Store Managers and provide training in order to enhance their levels of performance.
  • Teach and administer exams for Food Safety Certification.
  • Assist with the administration of the Market Manager Trainee program.
  • Provides training and development programs by identifying learning requirements; coaching to improve performance; proposing promotion date to management.
  • Provide back office and POS support during acquisitions and new store openings.   Provide POS and back office training as new systems are developed to Store Management.
  • Provide ad hoc training for new programs (Self Load ATM, Certegy, etc.)
  • Develop lesson plans and training material for new programs and systems.
  • Increases professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reading professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
  • Ensures compliance with requirements, policies, and regulations by enforcing adherence to corporate systems, polices and governmental regulations; advising management on needed actions.
  • Complies with federal, state and local legal requirements by studying and reviewing existing and new laws; auditing and enforcing adherence to requirements; rendering opinions; advising management on needed actions.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing Financial and Key Result Area targets pursuant to Company plan guidelines.
